Normally you’ll have to wait until a third party (TutuApp, Tweakbox,) signs the app and update it again. If your device is jailbroken There is Cydia tweak named Cydia Extender that aims at signing IPA apps automatically (as igotbythisname mentioned in ). Install this tweak and you can make it work on your own.
I just tried Method 3 and so far things seem to be working good. I created a new/burner Spotify account because I currently am subscribed to Premium with my Facebook login; one thing that doesn’t seem to be working is the ability to change the Download Quality-trying to do so causes a ‘Switch to Premium’ pop-up. Also, I went to JulioVerne’s Twitter account where he lists his latest apps, the one I downloaded and linked here shows version 5.7.0.1055, and the one he’s posted to his twitter says v7.6.0? Does the older v5 run better, is that why it’s linked here?
Will test this out for the next few weeks, if it remains to work good, I REALLY look forward to canceling my Premium subscription! I was happy to pay the $5/month student discount but once they canceled it, and it jumped to $10/month, plus i pay $15/month for family Apple Music, I’m ready to save some money! Ps-w’sup w/this website?? Sooooo freakin’ laggy!
It’s been such a task just to leave this comment! Hi Daniel, thanks for your comment. While I agree with you that paying is much better, I have been paying for Spotify Premium for many years now; I also pay for a Family Apple Music plan.
So if there’s down time to this Spotify hack, I won’t really be missing out on any music; frankly, I have been using Apple Music a lot more than Spotify lately, even though I think Spotify’s user experience far exceeds that of Apple Music. So what certificate are you referring to? I used Method 3 of this article to get Spotify working for me, so I’m using and signing my own certificates. Is there some other certificate behind the scenes tied to the app/hack that is making this work?
If not, then there’s really no worry about the certificate getting revoked. Matter of fact just a few minutes ago I tried to launch Spotify on my iPhone and I was told I needed to verify the certificate-it’s a similar if not identical system for my iOS 10 jailbreak. Have you heard of Cydia Extender? It’s a very neat, crafty, and genius jailbreak app that auto revokes and auto signs certificates for sideloaded apps, instantly and directly on your device! So with a few presses and in a matter of minutes my certificate was re-signed/verified/whatever and Spotify was back up and running again, no problem!
So far things have been so well! I feel bad, I still have 17 days left of Premium but here I am using this hack, but I guess it will pay off in the long run-gotta make sure it all works like I want or need it to! Even if it turns out I don’t like it, which I doubt! I can always start paying them again, hah!!!
(doubt it!).
